Car battery check and replacement
Slow starting on cold mornings, a battery light, or electrics playing up? Pop in for a free battery check: we’ll test the battery and charging system and tell you where you stand. If it needs replacing, we fit quality batteries for cars and vans, usually while you wait, with a 3-year warranty.
Signs your battery is on the way out
Slow cranking
The engine turns over sluggishly, especially first thing or in cold weather.
Battery / charge light
A red battery symbol on the dash while driving needs checking, battery or alternator.
Electrical glitches
Dashboard warnings flickering, stop-start not working, or the radio losing its settings.
It’s over 4 years old
Most batteries last 4–6 years. Age plus short journeys is the usual killer.
Needed a jump start
Once a battery has been flat, it rarely fully recovers. Have it tested.
Stood for a while
A car left unused for weeks can flatten the battery and shorten its life.
What we do
We test the battery’s health under load and check the alternator is charging correctly, a weak battery is sometimes actually a charging fault.
If you need a new one, we supply and fit the right specification for your vehicle, including start-stop AGM and EFB batteries, and code it to the car where required. Old batteries are recycled responsibly.

Batteries
How long does a car battery last?
Typically 4–6 years. Short journeys, cold weather and heavy electrical load shorten that.
Is the battery check really free?
Yes. We test the battery and charging system and tell you the condition, no obligation.
Can you fit one while I wait?
For most cars and vans, yes. Some need the battery coding to the car afterwards, which we do. 3-year warranty on our batteries.
My stop-start has stopped working. Is that the battery?
Often, yes. Stop-start needs a healthy battery and will disable itself to protect it. Worth a check.
